Inlays, Veneers & Crowns

Dentistry that will strengthen and complete your smile

Inlays, veneers, and crowns are excellent options when patients are looking to improve dental aesthetics and functionality. It is crucial that they are not only visually consistent with the natural teeth but also durable enough to withstand the forces exerted on them when biting.

Although each technique is different, they offer a similar solution in the sense that they are customised to cover a section of a tooth or an entire tooth to correct any damage that has been caused over time.

What is an inlay

A dental inlay is a pre-molded filling that is a non-invasive form of indirect restoration, often used to fill larger cavities.

The inlay is usually fabricated in a lab and is manufactured to the exact size and shape of the gap to ensure no food and bacteria get trapped. The solid piece is then cemented onto the tooth.

What is a veneer

Veneers are an excellent option for those looking to improve their smile and correct any imperfections. Natural in appearance, they are placed over the teeth to make minor adjustments and help protect teeth from further damage and discoloration.

At Greenlaw, our veneers are custom-made for each of our patients and can be created to look as natural as your original teeth. Before the veneers are built, you can discuss your desired shade with your dentist to achieve optimum results.

What is a crown

A crown is an artificial ‘cap’ that is attached to the remaining section of the tooth. Used as a form of dental restoration, crowns can strengthen natural teeth whilst enhancing their overall appearance.

We will prepare your tooth by removing an external layer, leaving a strong core for the crown to be attached to. To create a natural result, the crown will be manufactured to the same thickness as the layer removed. Whilst you wait for your permanent crown to be created, we will fit a temporary equivalent so that you can chew normally as you wait.

What type of denture is right for me

Sometimes implants and bridges aren't suitable, but you can have a variety of dentures. Before we recommend any treatment, a dental examination will be required to determine which procedure is best for you. At Greenlaw Dental, we are committed to providing bespoke solutions that take into consideration the health of your teeth, but also your individual preferences.

Modern dentistry techniques offer more attractive and functional restorations than ever before.

There are a variety of different materials and applications that can be used to restore your missing teeth, which is why we take the time to understand each individual case to determine which solution is best for you.

Valplast

Often referred to as the ‘flexible denture’, this denture differs from the standard acrylic denture in the sense that it has flexible properties making it much stronger and lighter.

    Acrylic

Comprised of pink acrylic rigid material and artificial teeth, this is the standard type of material used for dentures to replace missing teeth.

      Cobalt Chrome

This type of material is often used when there are enough healthy teeth to support the fit of the metalwork. In comparison to an acrylic denture, this type of denture is much thinner yet stronger.

        Ivobase

Ivobase represents a new generation of dentures that have been designed using the latest dental technology to ensure there is less shrinkage which results in an optimum fit for the patient. This type of denture is an excellent alternative to acrylic and is hand-finished to offer a natural and seamless result.

        Peek

A new introduction to modern dentistry, PEEK has previously been used in medicine and engineering to fabricate items with demanding applications such as spinal surgery.

One of the latest advancements in modern dentistry, PEEK is designed, scanned, and milled, offering a bespoke solution that is customisable to each patient’s mouth.

This type of denture is highly durable, flexible, and lightweight, and is the ideal option for restoring single or multiple teeth gaps to improve bite and aesthetics.
